Court rules that Zuma must pay legal costs

South Africa

The North Gauteng High Court has dismissed former president Jacob Zuma’s application for leave to appeal personal costs order in state capture review.

The North Gauteng High Court had ordered Zuma to personally foot the bill for trying to have the report set aside and be reviewed.

While he was president, Zuma appealed that ruling.

But President Cyril Ramaphosa has withdrawn that appeal, meaning Zuma will now be required to pay the millions out of his own pocket.
