The South African Students Congress (Sasco) is expected to meet with NSFAS on Friday to straighten out discrepancies with the university registrations process.
They have vowed to make tertiary institutions ungovernable if students who can’t pay for registration fees are turned away.
Some students haven’t been allowed to register as NSFAS allegedly did not settle their outstanding university bills.
Sasco says it is unacceptable that underprivileged students are being deprived of getting an education.
Sasco deputy president Luyanda Tenge says they will also take their fight to the NSFAS offices.
“NSFAS have not communicated in particular with the new students in relation to the fact that they have accepted them so that they can be able to register in these institutions,” Tenge said.
